Bethany Presbyterian Church Chat July-August 2025

Dear Ones,

Summer is here and with it a time to play and relax and renew our health and relationship with family travel and more sleep and fresh vegetables and fruit in abundance. All in all, we find ways to slow the pace of our lives and truly love each other. I know that especially for our families, church becomes something missing because of travel and time together. This has never really bothered me as a pastor, for I know it is just a season. But I want to remind us that our gifts to God can be mailed and are still needed, and our

Sunday worship is live on our YouTube channel and saved for viewing any time or day on my Facebook page. I enjoy seeing worship when we are out of town. I also want us to remember that wherever we go, these words of one of our Early Church Mothers remind us that we take Christ with us.

St. Teresa of Ávila says,

"Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks

Compassion on this world,

Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,

Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.

Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,

Yours are the eyes, you are his body.

Christ has no body now but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks

compassion on this world.

Christ has no body now on earth but yours."

My prayer for each of you is that as you wander and rest and recreate, you will take Christ intentionally with you and your families. So many we encounter as we travel need that compassion, that blessing, that service and care. Be a living reminder of Jesus on the beach or in the mountains, resting at home or at camp, fill your down time with His presence and you will return more than refreshed, renewed. I love each of you very much.
