Dear church family,
I have selected two scriptures for your reading in this newsletter.
II Samuel 22:47 – “The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, the Rock of my sal- vation!” and Psalm 16:8 – “I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
God is the foundation and focus of our lives – One that will not be shaken. Ever since He became our Savior, we have been building on the rock of His Presence. Some of the things we have worked on have flourished and others have not, but we always have a firm place to stand – on the Founda- tion that He has provided for us.
The key to steadiness in our lives is to set Him always before us. When we make Him our focus, we can walk steadily along our life-paths. Many distractions will try for our attention along the way, but He is the Guide who is always before us.
As we relax in His Presence, we should realize that nothing can separate us from His love. The worst-case scenario in our lives – that He might stop loving us – is not even in the realm of possibil- ity. We can rejoice that we don’t have to perform well enough to earn His love, or to keep it. His love is a pure gift, securing our
connection with Him for all eternity.
Even though we live in a world where trouble is inescapable, we can be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world! Let us, therefore, keep looking ahead
to Him as He leads us step by step – all the way to Heaven.
