Who We Are

God calls the Bethany Presbyterian Church to be a living community and light to the world, guided by the Holy Spirit and transmitting God’s love revealed through Christ Jesus.

The members and friends of Bethany Presbyterian Church welcome all persons, regardless of age, ethnic heritage, religious backgrounds, etc. Our membership includes people from across Wayne County, including Honesdale, Waymart, Beach Lake, Lake Ariel, Pleasant Mount, and others. We are a church of families young and old, of single parents and retirees, of widows and widowers, single individuals, of long-time residents and folks new to the community.

We worship enthusiastically in praise of God and in gratitude for God’s blessings. Worship is at the center of our life together: in Word and Sacrament, prayers and song, we celebrate that nothing can separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!

We seek God’s will; we do not presume to know it. We embrace the uniqueness of each person’s faith journey, and encourage any who desire a life of greater spiritual depth and meaning to join with us.

As individuals, we still find our unity, our common identity, in Jesus Christ, and together seek to joyfully worship God and energetically minister to the needs of the world on God’s behalf.
